Serving families that are not necessarily a part of other Charting Careers programs, Community Impact Specialists, who are trusted leaders in key Annapolis communities, work to help their commmunities thrive. They build trusting relationships with students and families, conduct student/family needs assessments, help families access existing community resources, and provide on-going support with setting and reaching goals.

In addition to work with individual parents/caregivers and families, Community Impact Specialists also plan and implement community events based on their assessment of community needs and interests. These include mental health events, financial listeracy classes, and community building activities.

Measures of Success

Parent/Caregiver Goals Achieved: Community Impact Specialists help parents/caregivers assess their own needs, set and achieve goals. They use the Arizona Self Sufficiency Matrix to measure progress.

Caregivers/Parents reporting that they are better off: On parent/caregiver surveys, parents/caregivers report that they are “better off since being involved with Charting Careers.”
