Charting Careers, Annapolis Middle School (AMS), and Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation invite you to register as a volunteer Career Guest Speaker for Annapolis Middle School’s 7th-Grade Career Day on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 8:30 AM-12:00 PM.

AMS’s Career Day aims to expose our young leaders to occupations and career fields they may not be aware of and to help them connect those areas of interest to their academic work as they prepare for high school and beyond.

We ask all Career Guest Speakers to arrive between 8:30-8:45 AM to allow time for parking, checking-in with the front office (a government issued I.D. is required), and transitioning to the school library. At 9 AM a continental breakfast will be provided, followed by a short program and classroom assignments. Speakers will travel in groups of 2-3 and will visit approximately 3 different classrooms. Each speaker will have about 10 minutes to speak in each classroom.

During the Volunteer and Information Training session, participants will receive information about the mission & goals of Charting Careers and the many ways, including tutoring, mentoring, and providing transportation, that a volunteer can help us support and inspire the young people we serve.
